Project management: skills and applications

My time as an in-house editorial manager equipped me with a range of project management skills which I can now offer to my freelance clients.

My freelance project management work has included:

• Administration and coordination of the writing and editing aspects of journal supplements
• Publishing a quarterly newsletter (including commissioning articles, conducting interviews, copy editing features, writing news articles and sourcing images)
• Acting editor for three issues of Cultural Trends (including liaison with the journal editor, authors of papers, typesetters, printers and the publisher)
• Acting editorial team leader for a medical education agency
• Project liaison with various stakeholders in the relaunching of a group of websites for a leading pharma company.

Building a team

I have a network of medical writers, editors and designers that I can call on for assistance if required. I will also do background research to identify key influences and influencers in a given area.
